The Mondrian + Russian Roulette

"Russian Roulette" and "The Mondrian" art inspired by the De Stijl and Memphis movement.

"Russian Roulette" was painted on December 2020, where the world was somehow "collapsing" due to the pandemic. The colours were depicted from the depressive situation of the world, including mine at that time, yet I somehow try to mask it on with a beautiful layer. Painting and creating "Russian Roulette" was a beginning of an ending. For me as a Designer(Artist), I think I wouldn't start my art journey and sharing it to the world if it wasn't for this moment in time.

"The Mondrian" is the second piece I did from my geometry series. I had a light bulb moment to change the colour hues when I went on a short vacation after my country opened the interstate travelling again due to the pandemic. The tones in this piece are much more brighter, and happier which translated to how I was feeling internally.

This geometry concept was originally done using Holbein Gouache.
